Obituary of JOSEPH P. MARTIN SR.

Joseph P. Martin Sr., 89, a Stamford resident passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015. Born on December 9, 1925 in East Boston, MA, the son of the late William Martin and Lucy Daly Martin. He is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine Levesque Martin. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lynn, MA, in 1943, and went into the Navy immediately after graduation. In 1970, Joseph along with his family, relocated to Stamford. He worked for the Purdue Frederick Company as a Comptroller and retired after 20 years of employment. He served on the Stamford Zoning Board from 1981-1985 and was an active member of the Hubbard Heights Association, and served on their Board of Directors for many years. Joseph is survived by his children Michele Dougherty and her husband Mark, Joseph P. Martin Jr. and his wife Karen, Thomas Martin and his wife Martha, and Terrence Martin and his wife Laura. He also leaves behind his brother William Martin and his wife Jane, his sister Maureen Martin Conrad, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Edward Martin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford.
