Obituary of MARY V. CASSONE

Mary Vartuli Cassone, 83, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born June 12, 1931, daughter of the late Filomena and Raffaeli Vartuli in Stamford, CT. She was married to the love of her life, Victor R. Cassone, on November 26, 1955. She is survived by her loving husband Victor; six children, Domenico Cassone and his wife Donna of Branchburg, NJ; Juliet Cassone Savignano of Shelton, CT; Ralph Cassone and his wife Wendy of Overland Park, KS and Hillsboro Mile, FL; Attorney John Cassone and his wife Geralyn of Wilton, CT; Victor Cassone Jr. and his wife Stephanie of South Salem, NY; and Filomena Saxton and her husband Dean of Tuscon, AZ; 20 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Michael A. Vartuli; Frank Vartuli; sisters, Catherine Buchetto; Lucy Cardin. Mary graduated from Stamford High School. After proudly raising her six children, she established Mary V. Cassone Realty in Stamford, CT. Upon retiring, Mary & Victor split their time between Milford, CT and Port St. Lucie, FL but it was Mary's children that gave her the greatest joy. She devoted herself to her husband and children and will always be remembered for her selflessness and tremendous strength. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Tuesday, March 31 from 3:00 - 8:00 PM.
