Obituary of ISABELLA DiCAMILLO

Isabella DiCamillo, 97, of Stamford passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 15, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 3, 1919 in Bridgeport, CT. She was a graduate of Stamford High School and worked at Pitney Bowes for many years until her retirement in 1990. She was a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish throughout her lifetime, active in many parish activities, and a long-time secretary of Our Ladies’ Guild.Isabella was a gifted seamstress making holiday and birthday dresses for her nieces as well as drapes, upholstery, bedspreads, and bridal creations. Her baking reputation preceded her, especially her lovingly made cream puffs and pizzelles. Her homemade ravioli were a much anticipated family tradition.Isabella was beloved by her sisters, brother, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great niece. She and her sister brought the family together for holiday feasts and barbecues holding the family tradition. She is survived by her devoted sister, Nancy DiCamillo, and loving nieces Laura Galasso DeMarco, Joyce DiCamillo (Malcolm Hoffmeister), Kathryn Galasso McGrath (Martin), and Gloria DiCamilloSinaguglia (Joseph). She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews Jason Hoffmeister (Susanna), Danielle DeMarco, Kelly DeMarcoLaccona (George), Christian Hoffmeister, Christopher McGrath, David McGrath (Alison), Joseph Sinaguglia, Matthew Sinaguglia and her great great niece Olivia Laccona.She was predeceased by her parents Ben & Laura (Pietrantonio) DiCamillo, brother Nicholas, sister Angelina Galasso, sister-in-law, Louise Di Camillo, brother-in-law, Daniel Galasso, and great niece Nica Sinaguglia. The family wishes to thank Father Martin deMayo and Sister Donna Brodmanof Sacred Heart Parish for their care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT.
