Obituary of LUCY PASQUA
Lucy Pasqua, 86, of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2015. Born on May 5, 1928 in Minturno, Italy, the daughter of Antonio Romano and Josephine Mallozzi Romano, Lucy immigrated to the US from Minturno, Italy at the age of 6 with her parents and her younger sister, Lee. Her treasured baby brother, Sam, arrived a few years later. She quickly assimilated into American culture while remaining proud of her Italian heritage throughout her life.
Lucy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an accomplished cook, homemaker and consummate decorator. Her greatest joy was time preparing sumptuous meals and entertaining family and friends. Her optimistic demeanor and personality was contagious. Her social calendar was continually filled and yet she always made time for those in need.
She was a trendsetter and had a passion for fashion and a style all her own. Her zest for life and zeal to shop was a joy to behold.
Lucy was a member of the Columbiettes and the Minturnese Social Club.
Despite significant health issues she endured during her life, she remained a vibrant, fun-loving and caring person until her dying day.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Anthony, her son, Richard and his wife, Linda of North Carolina, her son Ronald and his wife, Claire, of Stamford.
In addition to her children, she is survived by her grandchildren, Janine Pasqua, Jacqueline Petrizzi and husband Tyler and Jennifer Pasqua.
Lucy leaves behind her brother, Sam Romano and his wife, Phyllis of Ridgefield, CT, her brother-in-law, Fred Pasqua and his wife, Emily and sister-in-law, Ann.
Lucy is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her cherished niece and “daughter” Susan Smeraldi whose dedication to Lucy’s care, well-being and joy has been immeasurable.
Lucy was predeceased by her sister, constant loving companion, confidant and best friend, Lee Romano Pasqua.
Our family is forever grateful for the expert care, dedication and compassion Dr. Vipulkumar Bhalodiya provided Lucy over the past several years.
Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lucy’s memory to St. Camillus Health Care Center, 494 Elm Street, Stamford, CT 06902.
