Obituary of ANTHONY J. CANALE JR.

Anthony J. Canale Jr., 84, a Stamford resident passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 1, 1930 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Anthony J. Canale Sr. and Annette (Bandolilo) Canale. He was predeceased by his daughter Janice McGaughey. Anthony served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 38. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Theresa (Sabato) Canale; his son Tom Canale and wife June; his daughter Jacquelyn Vartuli and husband Ralph; his son-in-law Michael McGaughey; three sisters Marie White, Nancy DiChiara, Judy Kostopoulos; and four grandchildren Erin, Lauren, Brendan and Alyssa. A special thank you to Dr. Falkoff and the Bennett Cancer Center as well as the staff at the Stamford Hospital for the care that was given to Anthony. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. There are no calling hours and burial will be private. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford.
