Obituary of ANTHONY DILORENZO SR.

Anthony DiLorenzo Sr., 74, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family after a long and brave battle with cancer. Born on July 7, 1940 in Italy, the son of the late Vincenzo DiLorenzo and Mariangela (Alicandro) DiLorenzo. Anthony left Italy as a young man to build a beautiful life for his family. He worked as a tailor in Stamford and Greenwich for over 40 years. An avid soccer fan, Anthony enjoyed music and being in his garden with his grandson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Gioconda (Zarrella) DiLorenzo; two sons Vincenzo DiLorenzo and Anthony DiLorenzo and his wife Jessica; his sister, Caterina Alicandro and her husband Bruno; and two grandchildren Vincenzo and Daniel. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 12:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT. There are no calling hours.
