Obituary of JOSEPHINE M. MELFI

Josephine M. Melfi, 87, a lifelong Stamford resident passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at her residence. Born on June 22, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. Davis and Josephine (Kaelin) Davis. She is predeceased by her husband, Vito J. Melfi. Josephine is survived by her three loving daughters, Jeanie Melfi-Smith and her husband Mark of Trumbull, Jo-Anne Melfi and her husband Donald Clark of Reston, VA, and Janis Melfi of Milford, and one loving son, Joseph A. Melfi of Norwalk and her grandpuppy, Waylon. She also leaves behind her brother, Charles L. Davis Jr., and sisters Florence Morck, Barbara Kocak and Carol Moore, along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Melfi touched many lives through her work as a paraeducator in the Media Center at Westhill High School for the past 29 years. She loved traveling with her family, shopping, reading and watching UCONN Basketball games. Her positive outlook on life was an inspiration to all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 9:30 AM at The Basilica of Saint John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
