Obituary of SILVIA FOGLIO FORZANI
Silvia Foglio Forzani died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Silvio Foglio and Rita Mongrandi Foglio of Stamford.
Silvia Forzani was born in Stamford, Connecticut on January 19, 1922. At the age of five she went to Italy to live with her beloved grandmother Emilia Foglio and her beloved aunt Irene Foglio, who raised her. She was educated inItaly. After graduating from college in Torino, she taught in the Italian school system in the Italian Alps in the 1930s and through the Second World War. After the war, she returned to Stamford where she married Joseph Forzani, who predeceased her in 1985. After she raised her children, she was a substitute teacher in the Stamford school system.
She was predeceased by her brother Homer Foglio and her brother Flavio Foglio. She leaves behind four beloved children, Carlo Forzani of Torrington, Miriam LaRusso and her husband William of Stamford, Richard Forzani and his wife Cheri of Weston, and Adriene Dawson and her husband Stephen of Stamford, nine grandchildren and three
great grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces and friends, all of whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind her special friend Patrick Sullivan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 12:00 PM at St. Leo's Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford.
