Obituary of MARY J. RINALDI

Mary J. Rinaldi, 98, of Stamford, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Waveny Life Care Center, New Canaan, CT. Mary was born in Stamford on July 23, 1917 to Raffaele and Philip Mercede. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Rinaldi. Mary was also predeceased by her brothers, Frank, Daniel, Nicolas, John, Michael, Anthony and her sister Angelina. Mary is survived by her daughters Gail Yeagley and her husband Larrie, and Jane Vigilante and her husband Frank; five grandchildren: Lisa LoRusso, her husband Richard; Gina Ventre, her husband Gerald; Dana Glander, her husband Robert; Michael Vigilante, his wife Susan; and Christopher Vigilante and his wife Adrienne; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, and her extended family Richard E. Gabriele. Mary worked for many years at the Yale & Town in Stamford. She then pursued a career in banking at the State National Bank of CT. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society. Mary and her husband Harry retired to Florida, living there for 25 years. There they lived the easy southern lifestyle playing golf and enjoying new friends. Moving back to Stamford 20 years ago, they enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. Mary enjoyed cooking and baking for the family and giving away her cookies to the grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 9th at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, CT. Special thanks to the loving and caring nursing and administrative staff of the Waveny Life Care Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary’s name to the Waveny Life Care Center.
