Obituary of ROGER J. PASTORE

Roger J. Pastore, age 77, of Surprise, AZ., passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Choice Rehab & Hospice Care in Surprise, AZ. Roger was born on July 25, 1937, in Stamford, CT. Roger was the son of the late Samuel Pastore & Mollie DeLuca Pastore. He is survived by his loving partner, Tamara Smith of Surprise, AZ., sister Karen T. Pastore, nieces Lyn M. Chatham, Christine D. Chatham & nephew Thomas R. Chatham and sister-in-law Dorothy Pastore. He was predeceased by his son Thomas Pastore-Varunes and his brother Thomas J. Pastore. Roger worked for Cassone Bakery in his youth. He later became one of the State's top Insurance Agents. He was owner of Platt Valley Oil in Denver, Colorado. He resided in Bow Mar, CO., & Scottsdale, AZ., retiring to Surprise, AZ. He was an entrepreneur with interest in restaurant proprietorship, thoroughbred horse racing and oil drilling. He loved horse racing, golf & football, especially the Denver Broncos. He will be forever remembered for his love of life & family, his big laughter & big heart. His family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Inurnment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT.
