Obituary of SYLVIA M. GIORDANO

Sylvia M. Giordano, 82, a lifelong Stamford resident passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18th, 2014 at her residence. Born on January 23, 1932, the daughter of the late Dominick and Carmella Uva. Sylvia was a graduate of Stamford High School. She was the owner/operator of the former Corner Vue Cleaners located on Cove Road and was a member of the Senior Group at St. Leo's Parish. She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank J. Giordano; her loving children, Gary Giordano and his wife Nancy, and Gina Giordano. She also leaves behind her brothers, Dominick Uva and Victor Uva; sisters, Theresa Bruno, Gloria Uva; two grandchildren, Tracey Neithercott and her husband Matt, Jillian Giordano, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sylvia is predeceased by one sister, Mary Pierni. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20th, 2014 at 10:30 AM at St. Leo's Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Friday, December 19th, 2014 (TODAY) from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
