Obituary of VICTOR J. GUARINO
Victor Joseph Guarino, 79, a Stamford resident passed away on Sunday, December 7th, 2014. Born on July 6, 1935, the son of the late Anthony Guarino, Sr. and Vincenza (Longo) Guarino.
Victor is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Lois Brooks Guarino; 3 children, Victor Guarino, Jr., Janice DePalma (Anthony DePalma), A.G. Guarino (Tamara Raymond Guarino); and grandchildren, Aly, Amanda, Taylor, Joey, Nikki, Riley, Anthony, and Carley. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Nick DeMaio and sisters-in-laws, Claire McCarthy and Etta Riccio Guarino, and 18 nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Victor is predeceased by his brothers Samuel Guarino, Sr., Angelo Guarino, Joseph Guarino, Anthony Guarino, Jr. and sisters Louise Ferrara, Margaret (Molly) DeMaio, and Ida Guarino.
Born and raised in Springdale, Victor attended Stamford schools and served in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated along with his brother Angelo, the Thunderbird Luncheonette on Hope Street, and several other food related businesses. Victor worked at Blueline Sports for many years.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 10th, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. John's Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien, CT. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT. Calling hours will be private. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford.
