Obituary of JOANNE M. FRATTURO

Joanne M. Fratturo, 63, died December 3, 2014 after a long battle with lung disease. Born in Port Chester, NY on April 22, 1951 to Anthony and Joan Labate along with her siblings Charlie, Susie and Anthony. She is predeceased by her father, Tony, sister Susie (Canada), and her loving aunt Marilyn Mott. Married to Harry Fratturo, Jr. (40 years last November) with three sons, Jason, Michael and Brian, grandson, Michael and daughter-in-law, Monica. Joanne graduated Greenwich High and went on to Wright Tech to become a dental assistant, graduating at the top of her class. She worked in the field for a short time but chose to concentrate on raising a family. She was very active in the Springdale/Stamford community when her children were young, even volunteering to coach t-ball and soccer teams when no one else stepped forward. She was an early supporter of Stamford Youth Hockey Assoc. in later years she went back to work as an administrative assistant in both the Marine and then the Tech Industries where she was highly regarded for her work ethic and her attention to detail. The Fratturo family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Stamford Hospital, as well as their associates Dr. Sacks, Dr. Yu, and Dr. Shah for their compassionate care of Joanne. The dignity and respect with which they treated her made a difficult time much easier to bear. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will take place in private. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler, Stamford on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
