Obituary of M. CONCETTA WHITE
M. Concetta (Connie) White, born in Avigliano Italy in 1920, she was the daughter of Pietrioantonio and Vita Creszenia Esposito Cammarota, immigrated with her family to the US in 1920. Wife of William (Buck) White, beloved mother of Nora (Donald) of Milford and Bill White of Stamford. Grandmother to Michael (Meredith) Sabia and Joseph Sabia and great grandmother to Finn and Mallory Sabia. She is also survived by her brother Joseph and sister Carmela from Port Chester.
Pre deceased by her husband and parents, brothers John, Daniel, and sister Josephine.
Connie graduated from Port Chester High school. She was a Stamford resident for 56 years.
Connie and Buck owned White's Delicatessen in Waterside on Greenwich AV. for many years. After her husband died Connie worked for US Marine Lines, Bartlett tree Experts and the Stamford Advocate until she retired.
Connie was active in the Stamford community by starting a chapter of Widow and Widowers . She was also president of the VFW women's Auxillary for many years, and an active member of the Stamford Over 60's club.
She will be remembered as an avid crocheter of afghans and a competitive bingo player. She will be missed by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
