Obituary of MARIE C. FECTEAU

Marie C. Fecteau, 83, of Stamford, CT, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. She was born in Stamford, CT on August 26, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Estella Vuono Daly. Marie graduated from Stamford High School in 1951where she excelled at softball, swimming and basketball. Her strong work ethic began as a young child assisting her father with finances at the family business, Stamford landmark Laddins Terrace. She was an Avon President’s Award winning saleswoman for 60 years and a dedicated GE employee of 27 years retiring at the age of 70. She loved holidays, sports, music, karaoke, and was an avid UCONN Women’s Basketball fan (104 straight wins!). A friend to many, Marie’s greatest love was always her family. Marie was predeceased by her parents, brothers Richard, Charles, Francis, Robert and sister Dorothy and grandson Frank Villeroel Jr. Marie is survived by her loving husband of 63 years John “Jack” Fecteau and four children, Jack K. Jr., his wife Diane, and their two children, Jack K. III and Steven, Denise Contessa, her husband Jay, and their two children Kristen and JJ, Kenneth J., his wife Toni, and his three children Kenneth Jr., Danielle and Demi, and Suzanne M., and her son Carmelo. She is also survived by her sister Carol (Kit) Legato of Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Marie is also a great grandmother to Montana Lee, son of Demi who was also Marie’s dedicated and loving caregiver. Marie’s family would like to acknowledge and thank the amazing staff at The Atria of Stamford, Stamford Hospital, Greenwich Woods and Hospice for their compassion and excellent care over the past few years. A memorial mass will be held to celebrate her life on Friday, March 3rd at Sacred Heart Church at 10:30am.
