Obituary of JOSEPH F. HLAVATY

Joseph F. Hlavaty, 96, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014. Born on September 5, 1918 in Stamford, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Masek) Hlavaty. He worked at the former Yale & Towne as a machine shop supervisor for many years. Joseph is predeceased by his wife, Jane C. (Pace) Hlavaty; his son, Joseph D. Hlavaty; brothers, Charles and Edward Hlavaty and his sisters, Helen Coppola and Mary Masso. He is survived by his beloved granddaughters, Jamie Hlavaty and her husband Francis Scarfi; Jodi Hlavaty Savarese and her husband Joseph; his brother, Godfrey Hlavaty and his wife Blanche; sister, Emma Soff and four great grandchildren, Julia, Dominic, Joseph, and Charlotte. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at The Basilica of Saint John the Evangelist, 279 Atlantic Street, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien.
