Obituary of FRANK M. MERLINO

Frank M. Merlino, 11/01/39 - 11/01/14. Born in Stamford, CT. Long time resident of NYC, NY and New Paltz NY. Beloved spouse of Stephen M Feldman. Brother of Marie Pia. Uncle of Grace Pia, Michael Pia and Elaine Bartell and their families. Friend to many. He passed, surrounded by loved ones at his hospital bedside, on his 75th birthday. A generous man of service to many causes which interested him and of a positive spirit that affected many lives. He valiantly fought AML, first diagnosed on 02/07/14, and came up just short of remission after multiple rounds of Chemo which would have qualified him for a promising but risky Stem Cell Transplant. The Chemo was approaching remission. But it also destroyed his Immune System and made him vulnerable to multiple infections that he succumbed to. A service will be conducted on Thursday, November 6th, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will immediately follow. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT.
