Obituary of MARIEARCHANGEL SPARAGNA

Marie Archangel Vaccaro Sparagna, 90, of Greenwich, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, September 28, 2014 in the home of her daughter, Agata Aspinwall. Until recently she lived in Greenwich. She was born in Stamford on March 1, 1924 to the late Louis and Fannie Vaccaro. She was the devoted wife to Mario Sparagna for 56 years. She was an excellent cook and thoroughly took pleasure in preparing meals, especially for her family. Marie was a family matriarch and a successful business woman. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Besides her husband, Mario, she is survived by her son, Carlo and his wife Marialta, three daughters, Agata Aspinwall and her husband Jon, Florentine Orosz and her husband Jospeh, Louisa Leigh and her husband Christopher, her sister, Marianne and Louis Robushi, her brothers, Carmine and Marie Vaccaro and the late Joseph and Nina and Louie boy Vaccaro. She was also a sister-in-law to Angelina and Pasqualina, and the late Anthony and John; grandmother to Katie and Stephanie Sparagna, Jon III, Marie and Jake Aspinwall, Stephen and Andrew Orosz, Mario, Nicole and Allison Leigh, grandmother-in-law to Nicholas Moore Sparagna and great grandmother to Tyler Carlo Jameson. Many cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
