Obituary of DONALD J. SERRICCHIO

Donald J. Serricchio, a lifelong Stamford resident passed away on September 9, 2014. He was 88. Born on August 2, 1926, the son of the late Gaetano and Antonia (Colucci) Serricchio. Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret (DelVecchio) Serricchio; his son, Dante J. Serricchio and his wife Ellen; his daughter, Susan DeLeo and her husband Jack; his brothers, Rudolph Serricchio and his wife Jean, Adolph Serricchio and his wife Terry; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Serricchio, Jason DeLeo and his wife Christa, Matthew DeLeo, Jacqueline Garthwait and her husband Andy; his great grandchildren, Colton and Evan DeLeo, Mason and Sophie Garthwait; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Gary Serricchio; his grandson, David Serricchio; brothers, Fred Serricchio, Michael Serricchio and his sister, Lucy DiMattio. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a Veteran of the second World War, proudly serving in the U.S. Navy as an electrician's mate. He was a master electrician, having been a member of IBEW Local #3 for over 60 years. He enjoyed gardening, loved to go for walks and was an avid bowler. Donald will be sorely missed by all who had the honor and privilege of knowing him. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT.
