Obituary of VITO V. LACERENZA
Vito V. Lacerenza, 93 passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2014.
Vito was born on March 14, 1921 in Stamford, Connecticut. He was the son of James and Catherine (Giorga) Lacerenza of Stamford. Vito graduated Stamford High School in 1940, during which he was a member of the Stamford High Choral Club, 'The Madrigals'. He joined Condé Nast Publications and when called upon to serve during World War II, Vito was part of Operation Torch. He was attached to Patton's Tank Division. Later, he served with the 8th Air Force in Africa and concluded his service in Foggia, Italy. After the war, he returned to Condé Nast while attending and graduating Traphagen School of Design i New York. Vito worked at Condé Nast for 28 years. In addition, Vito was a broker with Ridges Realty of Stamford, and was active until 1994.
In 1949, Vito married Rose Marie Schinella. In 1964, he began working for the Combined Insurance Company of America, now part of Aon PLC of London as District Manager, retiring in 1982. A member of the Piedmont Club of Darien, Vito's keen sense of humor, dedication to his family and friends and commitment to community organizations including the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and Toys for Tots was unwavering and will be sorely missed.
He is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 52 year, Rose (Schinella) Lacerenza, his sisters Carmela Lacerenza, Janet Gunipero, Beatrice Verastro, Ann Stramaglia, Lucy Pavia and brothers Anthony Lacerenza, Charles Lacerenza, Dominic Lacerenza, Dr. James Lacerenza, and Frank Lacerenza. Vito is survived by his sons, James, Lucien and Joseph, and two wonderful grandchildren, James and Noelle.

A private burial will be held for family only. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10:30 AM.
