Obituary of DAVID SILVERMAN
David Silverman, 92, a resident of Norwalk passed away on June 29, 2014. Born on August 20, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Samuel Silverman and Rose Gruber Silverman. He is predeceased by his wife, Catherine Colabella Silverman.
David was a Purple Heart recipient who served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a foreman for Otis Elevators and Colorfilm for many years. He enjoyed golf and was an excellent dancer.
David is survived by his children: Jacalyn Silverman, Richard Silverman and wife Sue Wainacht, and Sheila Felix. He also leaves behind his brother Louis Silverman of Stamford, sister Ann Brown of Florida and his grandchildren: Tamara Dickson, Jennifer Silverman, Tyler Silverman, Ryan Silverman, Katherine Felix and Ethan Felix. He is predeceased by his brother Al Silverman and sisters Beatrice Falco, Minnie Scott and Ray Weinstein.
Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rabbi Joshua Hammerman officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
