Obituary of SALVATORE PRINCIOTTI
Salvatore Princiotti, 83, died on his birthday, February 21st, at his home in Riverside, Connecticut, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol, his three children Anthony, Anna and Angela, and seven grandchildren.
Sal was born Feb. 21, 1934 in Stamford CT. He attended Stamford High School and was a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music in 1958. Sal was the founder and conductor of The Stamford Young Artists’ Philharmonic, which he led for fifty-two years before his retirement in 2012. He also taught instrumental music in the Greenwich and Darien School Systems for many years. During a sixty-year career as a private violin and viola teacher, he instructed well over a thousand students. His devotion to teaching inspired multiple generations of young musicians to develop their talents and make music a nurturing part of their lives.
Visiting Hours will be on Sunday, February 26th from 2 to 5pm at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, February 27th, at St. Clement’s Church, 535 Fairfield Ave., Stamford, at 11am, followed by a Burial Service at St. Mary-Putnam Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Rd., Greenwich, CT.
