Obituary of EVA ELLIOTT

Eva “Dolly” Elliott, nee Russo passed away on April 30th, surrounded by loved ones. She was a lifelong Stamford resident. She was predeceased by her husband, George Elliott. Loving mother to George (Marion), Richard(Susan), David(Judith), Eileen, Eve Gambale (John) and Peter(Amy). Loving grandmother to 20 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.Also predeceased by her brothers, Michael, Fred, George and Frank Russo.Survived by brothers, Peter Russo(Margaret) and Angelo Russo (Lorraine) and sisters-in-laws, Mary Russo and Joanne Russo. Dolly was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she was active in the Rosary Society. Always an avid sports fan, Dolly loved cheering on her children and grandchildren at various sports fields around town and around the country. Dolly also loved watching the Yankees and the UConn Huskies women’s and men’s basketball teams. At weddings and parties, Dolly was always one of the first ones on the dance floor and one of the last to leave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 9:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Dolly was a frequent contributor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
