Obituary of ISOBEL J. VALENZON FRANCO

Isobel J. Valenzon Franco, 81, a lifelong Stamford resident passed away on April 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 14, 1932, the daughter of the late James K. and Margaret (Brown) Johnstone. She is survived by her children Richard Scott Valenzon (Faythe), Peter Valenzon III (Rachel), Susan Johannessen (Jon) and Lisa Ann Valenzon. Stepson in-law (Sandy) Thomas Dunn, Stepdaughter Debby Bennett (Gary) Isobel also leaves behind her sister, Margaret Edlund, grandchildren Heather, Robyn, James, Rachael, Sarah. 3 step grandchildren, Stacy, Kelly, Casey 12 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husbands, Peter “Scrappy” Valenzon Jr. and Armand Franco, her granddaughter, Armanda and her brother, James Johnstone Jr. Stepdaughter Beverly Dunn. Isobel graduated from Stamford High School in 1950. While raising her wonderful children her home became the centerpiece for family and her children’s friends for the rest of her life. Isobel also found joy spending her winters in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she enjoyed an active life with her friends. Isobel was especially loved by her many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. A prayer service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford with Rev. Dr. David R. Van Dyke of the First Presbyterian Church, Stamford officiating. Interment will follow.
