Obituary of MARY PASTORE

Mary Melsenti Pastore, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born October 3, 1921 in Greenwich, CT., Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Melsenti of Greenwich, CT. She worked for Conde Nast and Clairol for many years. Upon retirement, she devoted much of her time to her parish, St. Catherine of Siena. She also enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center of Greenwich, cooking, traveling, dancing and most importantly, with her family and friends. Mary was predeceased by her husband Daniel “Dick” Pastore of 55 years. She is survived by her devoted son, Thomas Pastore and his wife Michele of Naples, Florida, formerly of Old Greenwich, CT., and her four grandchildren; Thomas Pastore, Jr., and his wife Heidi, Jeffrey Pastore and his wife Tammy, Gina Pastore Mugavero and her husband Jerry, and Michael Pastore and his wife Michele, all of Greenwich, CT., and her eleven cherished great-grandchildren, Tyler, Daniel, Jenna, Tommy III, Mitchell, Jorja, Johnna, William, Charlotte, Gregory and Grayson. She was predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters; Charles Melsenti and James Melsenti of Stamford, CT., Annie Chiapetta of Greenwich, CT., Gloria Curto of Stamford, CT., and Comfort Stroili of Greenwich, CT. Mary will be fondly remembered for her incredible spirit, her care for others and most especially, her underlying love of family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at The Nathaniel Witherell for their care and kindness they had given to Mary.
