Obituary of FRANCES R. SCAFFIDI

Frances Rose Scaffidi (nee Catania), longtime resident of Stamford, CT, peacefully passed away, at almost 96 years of age on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was born, raised and lived in the Bronx. She married Rosario Scaffidi, and raised their three children, Lorraine, Toni, and Roy. After lovingly raising her children, Frances returned to the workplace as a clerk in the Bronx Supreme Court and later, the Board of Education. Upon her retirement, she moved to Stamford, CT. Frances was an excellent cook and loved sharing meals with her family. She always said that her secret ingredient was the love that she put into her cooking. Frances is survived by her loving children, Lorraine Scalise and her husband Bill, Toni Marino and her husband Bob, and Roy Scaffidi and his wife Roseann, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by Rosario Scaffidi , her husband of 42 years, her parents, James and Rose Catania, and brother Anthony J. Catania. Her wake will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the next day, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford CT. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery at 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY, in the Shrine of Memories.
