Obituary of MARIE H. BURRIESCI
Marie H. Burriesci, 89 years old of Stamford Connecticut, passed away in peaceful sleep with her family by her side on January 5, 2014.She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Burriesci, parents James and Lorenza and three brothers Ralph, Joseph and James DeCaro.
A native Greenwich residence, Marie attended Greenwich High School where her sassy personality got her voted class vamp of 1943. She worked at Pitney Bowes during World War II and Schick.
She then volunteered her time to the American Red Cross blood services. Her heart was really in the home raising her family. The house everyone would stop over to play cards and to sample her gravy and meatballs.
Survived by her sisters Florence DeCaro of Greenwich and Nicoletta Craig of Florida, daughter Barbara Cerulli and her husband William of Stamford, son Charles Burriesci of Arizona, grandchildren Diane Kwan of Stamford, Smith and Wesley Burriesci of Arizona and one great granddaughter Madeleine Kwan. Mema was the strong center to our family and will be profoundly missed. A special heartfelt thanks to her devoted longtime caregiver Eslyn.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10 AM, followed promptly by entombment at St. John's Cemetery, 25 Camp Ave, Darien, CT. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford.
