Obituary of CHRISTINE PERNA

Christine Zito Perna of Stamford died on Friday, February 10, 2017. Born January 16, 1930 in Stamford, she was the daughter of John & Mary (Magliari) Zito. She retired from the former St. Joseph Hospital in Stamford where she worked in the finance department. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael T. Perna Sr. in February 1975. She was a member of St. Mary’s senior club & AARP chapter 2002 in Stamford. She is survived by a daughter, Dolores Ekstowicz (Robert) of Blackwood, NJ; a son, Michael T. Perna Jr. and his husband, Alex Kitay of Lakewood, CA; three grandsons, Arthur (IV) and Jon-Michael Knapp of Blackwood, NJ and Mathew Ekstowicz of Stamford; a brother, John Zito of Trumbull and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 8:30 – 10:30am at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church, Elm St. in Stamford.
