Obituary of FRANCIS WILLIAM PATRICK MULREED
Francis William Patrick Mulreed, 87, of Southbury formerly a resident of Stamford, CT for 77 years died peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of the late Marion Annunziato Mulreed, the love of his life, for 54 years.
Frank was born on August 11, 1929 in Stamford and was the son of the late James and Frances Murphy Mulreed. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army as a Radio Traffic Analyst. He was employed as a supervisor at Chesebrough Ponds and then as the Purchasing Manager of the Holson Company in Wilton.
Frank is survived by his three children and their spouses: Karin and Ed Nadriczny of Monroe, Kerri and Savas Dimitratos of Woodbury and Kenneth and Sheri Mulreed of Stamford. He was affectionately known as "Pa" to his five grandchildren Melissa Lewis, Eric Dimitratos, Steven and Chelsea Mulreed and Krista Nadriczny and his four great grandchildren Hailey, Brandon and the twins Christian and Alexa. He is also survived by a sister, Betty French. He was predeceased by his brother James Mulreed and his sister Agnes Toth. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Frank loved trips to the casino, scratch offs, Starbucks coffee, golf, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and feeding the birds on his deck.
Calling hours will take place Thursday, October 6th from 4:00 -8:00PM at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 7th at 11am at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien.
