Obituary of LUCY C. VERRASTRO

Lucy C. Verrastro passed away on Saturday July 2, 2016 at the age of 99 in Seymour, CT. She was born in Stamford, CT on October 22, 1916 to Peter and Mary Scurek Smolen. She lived in Stamford until 2013, when she relocated to Shady Knoll Healthcare Center in Seymour. She will be remembered fondly by her friends and family for her unique perspective on life, quick smile, and sense of humor. She was the wife of the late Angelo D. Verrastro (d.1981). She is survived by her niece Kathi Hunt Pawlak (Walter) of Ansonia, nephews Stanley Bogacki (Marilyn) of New Canaan and Richard Bogacki of Allensville, PA., Stepsons Victor Verrastro (June) of Monroe, Angelo Verrastro Jr. (Carol), Anthony Verrastro (Pat), granddaughter Marlo Verrastro-Ruggiero and great grandson John "L. J." Ruggiero of Seymour. Besides her parents and spouse, she was predeceased by her three sisters - Anna Bogacki, Helen Hunt and Irene Byrne. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 10:00 - 11:00AM. A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT.
