Obituary of RALPH J. BOCCUZZI

Ralph J. Boccuzzi, Jr., 84, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on June 12, 2016 after a brief struggle with cancer. His wife and children were at his side. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Corinne (Matteis) and his children, Bennett, Rosemary and Joanne. He was predeceased by his son, Stephen. He was a loving Papa to his 11 grandchildren, Lori, Ann Marie, Stephanie, Matthew, Bradley, Nicholas, Thomas, Gianna, Nadia, Bridget and Andrew. He has one great grandson, Gregory Stephen.He was the loving brother of the late Gene, Joseph and Michael Boccuzzi. His other siblings include brothers’ Theodore, Edward and Carmine Boccuzzi and sister, Barbara Downey.A lifelong resident of Stamford, he was born July 2, 1931, to Ralph and Carmella Boccuzzi. He worked at MarLe Company for over 40 years, starting as a delivery driver and retiring as a price consultant. For the last 3 years, he was a proud Crossing Guard for the City of Stamford.Ralph was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #41. As a corporal in the US Army, he served as Military Policeman at Fort Lee, Virginia, from 1952 to 1954. Family will receive relatives and friends at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford, on Wednesday, June 15, from 4pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John R.C.Cemetery in Darien, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT, 06902.
