Obituary of LOUISE V. SABIA
Louise V. Sabia, 90, passed away on May 20, 2016 at The Villa at Stamford. Born on June 15, 1925 the only child of Joseph and Carmella Rosa Gatti, she lived in Stamford all her life.
Louise graduated from Stamford High School where she met her beloved husband James Sabia, who predeceased her by seven months. Louise enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Hubbard Heights Women’s Golf Association for many years. As a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, she was active in the Rosary Society and served as the church organist for many years. Music was her passion and she played the piano from her childhood to her death. More than music was her love for her family. Typically Italian, she spent many hours in the kitchen cooking and baking. Family gatherings were filled with good food followed by singing around the piano. Most of all Louise was happiest being the mother of her five children. She leaves behind her daughter, Annette Sabia of Winstead, CT and four sons; James Sabia and wife Michele of Stamford, Joseph Sabia of Boca Raton, FL, Fred Sabia and wife Michelle of Winchester VA and David Sabia and wife Dina of Sandy Hook, CT. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews as well as friends.
She touched the lives of many through her kindness and caring. And just maybe, somewhere up there, sweet music is filling the heavens.
