Obituary of Eleanor Mary Spignesi

Eleanor M. Spignesi (76) of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on September 8, 2017 after a brief illness.  Eleanor was born on August 9, 1941 in Stamford, CT, daughter of Michael and Marguerite (Rich) Centonze.  She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leopold V. Spignesi.  She was a loving mother to her two children Ann LoBosco of Newtown, CT and John Spignesi of Cape Coral, FL and adored her two grandsons Charlie LoBosco and Michael LoBosco.  Her brother Dr. John F. Centonze and his wife Beatrice of Stamford, CT; brother-in-law Charles Spignesi, sister-in-law Ann Cece and husband Larry; and sister-in-law Mary Bacco all of Naples, FL; her dearest friend, Edie Goodall of Torrington, CT; as well as several nieces and nephews also survive her.  In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Michael Centonze. 

Her love of children was evident by the many years she spent as a day care provider and education assistant in elementary schools in Barkhamsted, CT and Naples, FL.  She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and will be deeply missed by many.

Friends and family may call at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT on Wednesday, September 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. followed by Mass at Sacred Heart Church , 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT at 10:30 a.m.  and interment at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT.
