Obituary of MICHAEL CALOMINO JR.
Michael Calomino Jr. was born on November 10, 1937 in Stamford, CT and peacefully passed away at his home on January 27. Michael was the son of the late Michael and Victoria Calomino. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Kallaway Calomino, of 53 years and three children Allison Calomino and her partner Steven Habetz, Michael Calomino III and his partner Hernan Bohorquez of Stamford, Cindy Calomino-Krom and her husband Kenny Kromof Monroe. He is also survived by three adored grandchildren, Kailea Krom of Monroe, and Bradley and Brett Mayer of Stamford and their father, Brad Mayer of Norwalk. He is also survived by three sisters Ida Magnifico and Dolores Berger of Stamford and Rose Calomino of Greenwich, as well as his sister-in-law, Margaret Kallaway of Norwalk. Also surviving are many nephews and nieces. Michael was predeceased by his sister Ann Judice and brother Frank Calomino, both of Stamford. His two cats, Apollo and Simone remained at his side.
Michael was a graduate of Stamford High School and upon graduation served in the US Army in Munich Germany for three years. He was then a Sales Manager at Polycast/Cast Optics Company and then owned the Lemon Tree Café in Stamford for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time at the beach at his home in Naples, FL. His greatest joy was his grandchildren.
Family will receive the sympathy of family and friends at Lacerenza Funeral Home, Eight Schuyler Avenue in Stamford from 4-7pm on February 1. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue on February 2 at 10:30 am, burial following at Fairfield Memorial Cemetery in Stamford.
