Obituary of Eleanor J Mori

Eleanor J. Mori passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving husband of 61 years and family.  She was born on May 30, 1936 to the late Violet and Mark Melfi and was a long time resident of Stamford, Connecticut.

She is survived by her loving husband John Mori, her two sons John Mori and his wife Lori, Michael Mori and his wife Kristen and her daughter Jo-Ann Mori.  She was blessed with eight grandchildren, John C. Mori, Brooke Mori, Tommy Mori, Michael Mori, Billy Murphy, Brian Murphy, Mark Murphy and Alexa Mori.

She is survived by four siblings Joyce Youcher, Lucille Maffei, Mark Melfi and John Melfi and is predeceased by sister Violet Davidson as well as many nieces and nephews

Eleanor lived a much fulfilled life. She was a wonderful homemaker to her husband and children.  Her love for cooking and gardening was evident in her home.  She was a long time member of the Sterling Farms and Hubbard Heights Woman’s Golf Association, where she participated and on many tournament’s as well as getting hole in one.  She enjoyed many years of watching her grandchildren’s various activities with her husband.  Eleanor and her husband enjoyed many years of boating along Long Island Sound and being members of the Ponus Yacht Club as well as spending many winters in Florida.

Calling hours will be held at Lacerenza Funeral Home 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Sunday, October 15th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, October 16th at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital in her memory.
