Patricia Parker

Obituary of Patricia Parker

Pat Parker died at home, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born Patricia Ann Morgan in Cleveland on Saint Patrick’s Day 1927 and graduated from The Huron Road School of Nursing.  She moved to Manhattan and worked as a Registered Nurse at the Presbyterian Neurological Institute.  She loved her life in New York, attending parties and Broadway musicals.  She met her husband Jeff there and they married in 1959.  Throughout their 56-year marriage, they remained devoted to one another.  After caring for Pat for many years, Jeff unexpectedly passed in 2015.

Pat is survived by her children Skip, Laura, Amy and Wendy, grandkids Heather, Tom, Melissa, Hannah, Sam, Izzy, Adele and Madeleine, and great-grandkids Jacob and Eli.

Pat Parker was a strong, dedicated mother.  As a homemaker, she sewed, gardened and made her family’s nightly supper.  In the 60s, Pat led Brownie and Girl Scout Troops, in turn inspiring young girls to become leaders.

In the early 70s Patricia returned to work as a nurse, founding the Greenwich Hospital R.N. Registry and Study Group, which was dedicated to furthering the career of nursing through education. She retired from nursing in 1981.

A memorial service will be held Saturday October 28th at 11:00 at her home parish, Saint Paul’s in Riverside.
