Sadly I just learned of bills passing. I met him and had many wonderful natural history discussions with him at laurel diner. Of course about O&g geodes but also construction and natural resources. He had a ready smile and an inspiring sensibility. He made me want to make our town a better place thank you for sharing him

Dear Billy and Bobby -
I was sad to see that your Dad passed away; he was a good friend of my family in the 1960's in Norwalk. My Dad and he went to school together in South Norwalk and then happened to live on the same street in the 60's also. My Dad passed away recently also at age 91. We knew you both as newborns and toddlers. We have many sweet memories of your lovely Mom and Dad in the old neighborhood. We also knew your Grandma Viola. Please accept our condolences.

I was sorry to see this in the newspaper today. We loved Bill and Grace. They were warm and friendly neighbors to us. He had created a photo album of the construction of our home, when we moved here in 2004. He was always ready to share stories about finding Geodes or about life in Connecticut. When he used to go for walks on Old Poverty Rd., he would always stop for a visit. It is hard to see someone age and not be able to enjoy life as they always knew. We are happy that we were able to share just a few years of his many years, and feel enriched having had Bill and Grace as neighbors. Their time here is cherished by us, and we are better for knowing them. I appreciate the geodes he shared with our grandchildren, and the kindness shown them. I am sorry for your loss and grateful for good memories of a really wonderful person.

Sorry to hear of my Uncle Bill's passing. I was named for him. My father was his brother Jim. Twice Bill drove from Connecticut to Washington State, in the 1950's, to see his brother and his family. I always remember he brought his roller skates and he went to the local rink to skate and dance. One trip he brought my Grandmother Viola with him. Only time I have ever met her. I have fond memories of him. Bill
