Obituary of Mattia Trudo

Mattia Trudo 91, of Stamford, peacefully passed away on April 26, 2018. Born on December 5, 1926, in Caserta, Italy, he was the son of the late Tommaso and Isabella (Mancini) Trudo. In Italy, Mattia served as a nurse as well as a multipurpose craftsman. The family came to the United States in 1970 where Mattia was a former employee of Pitney Bowes. In his free time he loved tending his garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with others, this being only one example of his unfaltering work ethic and caring nature. He was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Mattia cared greatly for his family and is survived by his son Thomas Trudo and daughter Giulia [Eduardo] Sportiello, his grandchildren, Anna, Anthony [Jennifer], Elisa and Daniel [Deanna], as well as his great-grandchildren, Noah and Sydney, his siblings Giulia Truglio, Antonio Trudo and Maria Cortese. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Pasqualina and sister Vittoria Trudo of Italy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 2, at 9 AM, at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave, Stamford, CT 06902.
