Obituary of Lillian C Toscano
Mrs. Lillian Capalbo Toscano, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at her home in Stamford, Connecticut. Lillian was born on October 3, 1924 in Greenwich, Connecticut to the late Frank Capalbo and Rose Infanti Capalbo.
Lillian graduated from Greenwich High School and the Merrill Secretarial Business School. She was a long-time employee of CLP, Garrity Industries and Town Electric.
On October 17, 1953, Lillian was united in marriage to Leo Toscano. He preceded her in death in 2006. They were happily married for 53 years.
Lillian is survived by her loving family, which includes her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren: Lee Toscano and wife Mary, Robert Toscano and wife Kim, and their daughters, Alexa and Olivia, Marc Toscano, Vincent Toscano and wife Gina, and their son Dominic.
She is also survived by her sisters: Christine (Capalbo) Currivan, Patricia (Capalbo) Chrusz, Gloria (Capalbo) Parente; her sister-in-law, Marie (Vizzo) Capalbo; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Lillian was preceded in death by her brothers, Angelo “Andy” Capalbo and Richard “Dick” Capalbo, and her sisters, Jennie (Capalbo) Pucci, Carmela (Capalbo) Curcio and Catherine (Capalbo) Conetta.
Lillian had an unwavering faith in God. She was a very devoted and active parishioner of The Church of Saint Cecilia for over 50 years. She was also a long-time member of the Columbiettes.
A consummate mother and homemaker, Lillian was a talented seamstress and had a special gift for knitting and crocheting. She was an avid floral gardener, who took great pride in the beautiful gardens she had nurtured around her home. She was also a wonderful artist, and she passed her artistic talents on to her sons. Lillian loved to bake, and her sour cream coffee cake was always a delightful treat enjoyed by all the extended family. She was witty, funny and charmed everyone who met her. She was greatly loved by so many people and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive guests for a wake on Wednesday, June 20, from 5:00 - 8:00pm at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave, Stamford. The funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day on Thursday, June 21, at 11:00am, at The Church of Saint Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford.
