Obituary of Pietro G. Iudicone

Pietro (Peter) Gabriele Iudicone, 88, of Stamford, CT, passed away on August 8, 2018 in Stamford, CT after a 14 year battle with Parkinson's disease. Pietro was born April 6, 1930 in Itri, Italy. He came to the US in 1966 with his family. Pietro was a hardworking husband and father. He was a longtime employee of both Froehlich Transportation and Stamford Wrecking, and a member of the Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 478. He was an active member of the Sacred Heart Church community- helping to establish the weekly Italian Mass. He enjoyed spending time with his family and gathering with friends and relatives over a good meal. He was a strong man with a big heart. Even though Parkinson's diminished many of his physical abilities, it never affected his spirit, polite and kind manner, or his ever-present patinece.

Pietro is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edda; his children Natalie Venetos (Jim) and Maurice (Sarah); grandchildren Peter Venteos and Olivia Iudicone; and many nieces and nephews. He's also survived by his sisters, Elisabetta and Tittina; and brother, Giovanni, who all reside in Italy. Pietro is predeceased by his parents, Francesco and Natalina; sisters, Maria and Lydia; and brother Vincenzo. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 12 from 4-7p.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 13 at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwich.
