Obituary of Mario O. Vitti

Mario O. Vitti, passed away on August 16, 2018 at the age of 97. He was born in Settefrati, Italy on May 29, 1921, the son of the late Angelo and Addolorato Vitti. Mario came to America in 1937 and a short time later was employed by the Henry Meyers Company where he spent forty years, eventually running the operations of the factory. During his time there, Mario was known to have employed many who came from Settefrati. Mario loved the outdoors. He was an avid gardener and a sport's enthusiast.

Mario loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Vitti; his children: Dolores Cunningham and her husband Daniel, Carol McCullough, Gary Vitti and his wife Marta and also his grandchildren: Scott Cunningham, Matthew McCullough, Adam McCullough, Jennifer Cunningham, Rachel Andrew, Emilia Vitti; and great grandchildren: Robert Cunningham, Leo McCullough, Watts Cunningham and Alina McCullough. He was predeceased by 3 sisters.

Calling hours will be held at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Monday, August 20 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation to The Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
