Obituary of Elizabeth A. DePreta

Elizabeth A. DePreta passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday August 16th, 2018. She was 94 years old. “Betty” was a devoted mother and wife. Her family was always her top priority. She was born on October 12, 1923 in Utica, NY to Bruno and Carmela Campese Amato. She was married on September 2, 1946 to her loving husband, Dominick DePreta. 
She is survived by her devoted children, Patricia A. Saxe of Stamford, James M. DePreta (Maryann) of Mahwah, New Jersey, and Pamela D Woodside (Charles) of Stamford. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren (Elizabeth and Thomas Intrieri, Tricia Saxe Coccomo, James Jr. and Nicole DePreta, Lauren and Sean Flanagan, Christopher, and Matthew),  8 great-grandchildren (Elizabeth, Madison, Allison, Dylan, Thomas, Nina, Gianna, and Mia), a brother, Bruno Amato of Stamford and Florida, and many nieces and nephews. 
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Dominick, and her siblings, Rose DePreta, Adeline Amato, Louis Amato, and Rev. Joseph Amato. 
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, August 21st from 9:00-11:00am at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30a.m. at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford, CT. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Darien, CT.
