Obituary of Assunta Zinicola

Assunta Zinicola, 91, a longtime resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Assunta was born in Minturno, Italy on November 3, 1926 to the late Giovanni and Antonia (Trionfo) Mallozzi. Assunta was loved by all. She is survived by her two children, Giovanni (Anna) Zinicola and Maria Zinicola; her sister Josephine (Joseph) Zinicola; her five grandchildren, Patricia (David) Mennona, Susy Zinicola, Anthony (Noelle) Zinicola, AnnMarie (Daniel) Young, Paul (Amelia) Melchionno; Her eight great grandchildren; her half-brother Joseph (Katherine) Mallozzi; her two nephews Anthony(Lily)Zinicola, Joseph (Norma) Zinicola and along with her great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Assunta is predeceased by her husband Antonio Zinicola of 56 yearsand her half-brother John Mallozzi. 

Assunta’s family will receive sympathy and condolences of friends and family on Wednesday, October 17th from 4:00– 8:00 p.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, October 18that 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT.  Entombment will immediately follow mass at St. John’s Cemetery, 25 Camp Avenue, Darien, CT. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made in Assunta’s name to: Opere Antoniane, Del Padre Annibale M. Di Francia, Istituto San Benedetto 72024, Oria BR ITALY.
