Obituary of Francesca Socci
Francesca “Frances” Socci of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 99 years of age. Frances was born in Settefrati, Italy on May 28, 1919 to the late Angelomario and Angelina Buzzeo. Frances immigrated to the United States in June 1946 with her daughter Florence to be reunited with her loving husband Antonio who had been deployed as a member of the U.S. Army to North African and European theaters in World War II.
Frances was an avid gardener as well as an excellent cook and homemaker. She was a member of the Rosary Society at Sacred Heart Church. Frances especially enjoyed traveling and getting together with family. She was employed outside the home at several manufacturing companies in Stamford. In recent years Frances resided near family members at St. Mary’s Home in West Hartford, CT.
Frances is survived by her children Marie Florence (Bruno-deceased) Vita, Anna (Michael) Fillippino and Daniel (Florence) Socci, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Frances was predeceased by her husband Antonio and brothers Anthony, Sam, Mario and grandson Quinn Fillippino.
Friends and family may visit on Friday from 4-8 pm at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 17 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church on Schuyler Avenue in Stamford. Burial will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Stamford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in the name of Francesca Socci may be made to St. Mary’s Home c/o Maureen Reardon RSM, Office of Development, 2021 Albany Ave, West Hartford, CT 06117.
