Obituary of Rose Sabia
Rose Sabia, age 94 of Stamford, beloved wife of the late James S. Sabia, and mother of Mary Ann Sabia, passed away peacefully. She was born on August 1, 1924 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Benjamin and Margaret Colangelo. She married James Sabia at Saint Joseph Church in New Rochelle, NY on October 14, 1951. They made their home in Stamford and were married for 47 year until his death.
Rose was an excellent cook, who could prepare a great holiday dinner without following a recipe. She hosted many family Thanksgiving celebrations and we especially enjoyed many Christmas Eve dinners that she prepared. Everyone enjoyed her Italian sauce and meatballs. She was an excellent baker too. Every Thursday she made a new desert from her favorite food magazine to share with her family who stopped by for coffee.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Sabia, her sisters Carmela Sabia and Ann Tobin, her brothers Anthony and James Colangelo, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her sister Maria Freda, her bother-in-law Frank Sabia, sister-in-law Dora Colangelo and brother –in-law Raymond Tobin. She will be missed by her family and friends.
