Obituary of Dorothy H. Mix

Dorothy (Dot) Hines Mix, 96, of Stamford, CT was called home to our Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2019. 

Born on May 12, 1922 to Frederick and Bertha Hines in Port Chester, NY. 
She married John Mix on April 19, 1952 whom was the love of her life. She is survived by her son, Frederick Mix of Stamford, CT, her two granddaughters, Amber Winski of Darien, CT and Ashley Winski of Stamford, CT and her beloved "kitty cats" as she would say. She was predeceased by her loving husband, John Mix and daughter, Laura Mix. 

Dorothy retired after a long and successful career as an Executive Secretary to raise her granddaughters. Additionally, she served as a Historian for the Stamford Historical Society as well as The First Presbyterian Church of Stamford. 

She was an avid reader, an accomplished writer, and devoted Christian. She spent many years serving her church family as well as her community. From serving on the Board, to teaching Sunday School, Dorothy found much joy and purpose in helping others. 

Her hobbies included baking, gardening, crafting and volunteering on numerous committees. 

Dorothy will be forever missed by all who loved her. 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1101 Bedford Street, Stamford, CT. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA in her honor.
