MARION JACKSON

Obituary of MARION CAMILLE JACKSON

Marion Camille Jackson, 90, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 11 at home surrounded by her family and with her devoted husband of 69 years, Charles Jackson, by her side. Nonny, as she was called by her family, was born on June 6, 1925 to the late Salvatore and Dora [Florentine] Summa. A lifelong Stamford resident, she loved her parents dearly and would often tell her family stories of her childhood, as a young woman she would sing at her father’s tavern and she sang her favorite song, "Always", at her sister’s wedding. Over the years, she waitressed at classic Stamford restaurants- Hamburger Den, Reddi Rooster and Al's Dog House. Throughout the years, you would find her every Saturday dancing the night away with her husband at the Piedmont Club, the Ponus Yacht Club, Knights of Columbus and many more. Their travels took them on various cruises, family trips down south and yearly trips to the Poconos and the Catskills. Holidays, birthdays and picnics were legendary and she loved to plan and cook for them. She had a tasteful sense of style, bawdy sense of humor, a fierce loyalty to her family, and a sideways glance like no other. Her greatest joy was being with her family. The matriarch of 5 generations, her purse was filled with photos to share with her friends of all her children, grand, great and great greats. She was a dear wife to her loving husband Charles, devoted mother to son Alan Jackson of Stamford, daughter Carol Jackson Bogacz and son in law Mark of Stratford, adoring and proud grandmother to granddaughters Darci Rabinovitz [David] of Madison, Dana Bogacz of Stratford, Jennifer Bogacz Henry [Jim] of Fairfield, Shelby Jackson-Schlotter [Tom] of Bethel, Stephanie Jackson Lucia [RJ] of Stamford. Great-Grandchildren Kristy, Zachary, Matthew Gray and Katie Gray Kuban [Dave], Jack and Sophie Dulemba, Emily, Megan and Ashley Henry, TJ and Jackson Schlotter, Rocco, Valentina and Dominick Lucia. Great-Great-Grandchildren Huckleberry and Wolfgang Gray, Ruby and Darla Kuban. Sister to Camille Jackson and aunt, cousin and friend too many. She was predeceased by her brother Vito Summa and sister Eleanor Summa in infancy. Nonny, you are deeply missed. You will be remembered daily with your voice singing our names. You will live on through your family. Until we meet again-Love you.
