Obituary of CARMELA MARIE SMERIGLIO

Carmela Marie Smeriglio, 87, a Stamford resident passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at her home. Born on June 15, 1928 in Port Chester, NY, the daughter of the late William Bologno and Marie (Bracciale) Bologno. She is predeceased by her husband Louis F. Smeriglio and her sister Molly Fusco Ruspini. Carmela was a graduate of Port Chester High School Class of 1946 and graduated from McDowell School for Design for dress making, costume design and tailoring. She worked for Stamford Public Schools for 40 years, primarily as a media specialist at Stillmeadow School. She is survived by her partner Frank (Doc) Orrico; her son Michael Smeriglio; her daughter Debra Hartlett and husband Fred; her sister Anne Greco; two grandsons Eric Hartlett and his partner Shannon Olsen, Bryan Hartlett; cousin Tony Smeriglio; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Darien, CT.
