Obituary of JOSEPH GIANNATTASIO

Joseph "Little Joe" Giannattasio, 67, a Stamford resident passed away at the Stamford Hospital on Friday, June 26, 2015 from complications due to a motorcycle accident. Born on February 26, 1948 in Bronx, NY, the son of the late Lawrence Giannattasio and Anna Colangelo Giannattasio. He is predeceased by his brother Lee Giannattasio. A proud father, Joseph is survived by his son Matthew M. Lester and his daughter Patricia Alleva and her husband Michael. He also leaves behind his brother Lawrence "Pepper" Giannattasio and his wife Geraldine; his sister Pamela Albero and her husband John; his longtime friend Roksolana; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was affectionately known as "Papa Joe" to his grandchildren who he adored, Dominic and Anthony. He was a graduate of Rippowam High School and served in the United States Air Force with the Strategic Air Command. Joseph was a motorcycle and car enthusiastic with a special love for corvettes. He enjoyed spending time at the beach and would often be seen at Curley's Diner and Donut Delight. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will take place in private. Relatives and friends may call at the Lacerenza Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford, CT on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
